Flexy Guide 3
Other features of Flexy useful for both web authors and for visitors include pull quotes, flexible main navigation, archives page, sitemap on the search page, accessibility aids and article templates.
Pull Quotes
By using a span with the class "pullout" within a paragraph, the pull quote will appear in the right sidebar nicely aligned with the top of the paragraph. Using "pulleft" instead, it appears in the left sidebar. Typing straight into 'two3col' or 'twocol' custom fields does the same except that alignment may not be exact because those fields are a set distance from the top of the column. Hence it is probably best to reserve those fields for images, or of course use them for layout purposes as described earlier. This is an example of a pull quote, call-out, pull-out or whatever the correct term is
Navigation
When you write an article you should give it a category of either 'nav' or 'list'. The title of the article will then appear in one of two places: in the main navigation or listed at the end of an article of the same section. Thus you are able to control the navigation you prefer your visitors to follow. Control is also why 'recent comments' and 'categories' can only be seen on the Archives page and 'recent articles' is just a short list on the home page. You can of course change this by copying and pasting the code from one page or form to another.
If you want to add or change the titles and sections of the main navigation, you can alter the flexy_nav form. Just be careful you change all instances of, for example, 'template' to 'mysection' etc.
Archives, Sitemap, Search
Apparently many people like to use these instead of following the main navigation, so I have tried to make it easy for people to find what they are looking for. The Archives page also has 'categories' and 'recent comments'. Search results are displayed with the Sitemap below them and an A to Z of all articles....by putting 'yesyesj' in the 'two3col' custom field you get the layout for this page...
